Platform updates and the fire safety legislation UK building owners and assessors need to know about.

Verify Fire is live — founding members now open

Verify Fire has launched as the UK's independent verification platform for fire risk assessors. Building owners can search for verified assessors near them or check an assessor's credentials in seconds; assessors can create a verified profile and get found by building owners who take compliance seriously.

Founding members get on the platform from day one.

The Fire Safety (Residential Evacuation Plans) (England) Regulations 2025 came into force on 6 April 2026, creating a new duty for responsible persons managing certain residential buildings. Most building owners don't know they apply to them.

Martyn's Law — what it means for venues and events

The Terrorism (Protection of Premises) Act 2025 — known as Martyn's Law — is required for venues and events with a capacity of 200 or more people, with enforcement from April 2027. Verify Fire's assessor search includes an optional filter for assessors with Martyn's Law competency.

Search for an assessor with Martyn's Law competency.
